About Us

ELC kids.jpeg

Liberty Park Community Development Center is an Early Childhood Education and Assistance Program (ECEAP). Our preschool program serves low-income families and their children.

In addition to providing curriculum-based activities for children, we offer a meal and snack, outdoor play time and art projects. These activities and family support are necessary for children to be ready for kindergarten.

Our program promotes development in areas such as literacy, math, social-emotional development, cognitive development, physical and language development.

The ECEAP program is aligned with nationally researched programs that have shown exceptional returns on investment.

ECEAP is effective at:

  • Increasing children’s social-emotional, physical and pre-academic skills.

  • Helping families move toward self-sufficiency and build their capacity to support their children’s success.

  • Ensuring that each child receives medical and dental care to start school healthy.

Events:

Every  year we offer events and workshops for parents, free of charge. In addition to learning about different topics each month, parents also have the opportunity to meet with other parents and support each other.

Education

We offer a safe and secure environment that nurtures child growth and development. We provide learning opportunities for children to enhance their skills and abilities for school success. We utilize the Conscious Discipline principles in our teaching strategies and encourage holistic learning through our curriculum.

Special Needs Support

Our pre-k gives children with special needs a mainstream experience that is safe, fun and caring.

Parent Involvement

We support families in their role as the first teachers of their children and encourage their active involvement in the program. We have several ways for our parents to be involved in their child's education, from volunteering in the classroom to advocating at the capitol for state-wide ECEAP programs.

Health Screening and Healthy Food

We conduct several health screenings in the classroom throughout the school year and teach children healthy habits. Children wash their hands before meals and snacks and brush their teeth after eating. We serve nutritious food and participate in the USDA children’s food program.
